A3 Soccer, a professionally managed and volunteer supported youth soccer club located in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, is seeking a well-qualified individual to fill the position of Director of Premier Operations starting late Spring (or earlier). A3 Soccer is accepting applications on a rolling basis. A3 Soccer is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, based in Anne Arundel County, Maryland serving more than one thousand youth soccer players. The mission of A3 Soccer is to be the model for the future of youth soccer development in the U.S. from recreational to elite
player.

A3 Soccer offers recreational, travel and premier soccer, as well as numerous supplemental training and futsal programs throughout the year. A3 Soccer has established a strong presence and quality reputation within the surrounding community. It is essential that this role is filled by someone that shares our core values and passion for supporting our community youth. Job Summary

The Director of Premier Operations (DPO) is A3 Soccer's lead Premier program resource and support coordinator, reporting directly to the Executive Director (ED). The DPO position requires
minimal club administrative work as the focus is to guide the “inside the lines” direction of our Premier (travel) program, sharing some duties while being solely responsible for others. “Inside the lines” is defined as designing and overseeing the training, developing the curriculum, style of play, and terminology.

The position will require evening and weekend hours during the spring and fall seasons. During the winter and summer months, the position will require less on-the-field presence and more coaching education courses. Success will be measured by 1) building a fun environment for players that keeps them coming back 2) growing registrations and 3) raising the training level of all Premier teams.

Key Roles include:

  • Collaborate with the staff to create and implement curricula for teams at all ages/playing levels in the club.
    • Annually review and update curricula.
    • Work with MSYSA and others to ensure training and curricula are up-to-date.
  • Collaborate with the staff to provide coaching education and support.
    • Provide in-house coaching education sessions prior to each season to familiarize trainers and coaches with the A3 curriculum.
    • Provide best practices guidelines for coaching and team management at every age group and playing level.
    • Provide guidance and education on issues of coaching ethics and philosophy.
    • Advise and consult with coaches, trainers and administrators on formal coaching education opportunities and processes for gaining USSF and United Soccer Coaches licenses and diplomas.
  • Ensure all coaches, staff-coaches, trainers are adhering to and implementing the club’s curriculum.
  • Measure coaches’ performance and provide written evaluation feedback to develop coaches as we develop players.
  • Hire and manage club staff coaches and/or trainers
  • Oversee and manage player training

Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Google Drive, MS Office and various business software
  • BSc/BA in business administration, sports management or relevant field a plus
  • Must be eligible to work in the USA and pass annual background checks
  • Preference will be given to candidates with USSF “A” or “B” licensing
