FC Frederick 01 is one of the most successful teams in FC Frederick’s history. They were the first team in club history to compete in National League and win the Eastern Regional League. Their roster is supremely talented, with around 20 girls looking to lock down collegiate commitments for next fall.
FC Frederick 01 will make their fourth consecutive appearance in National League in the 2019-20 season competing in the 19U division. Despite 5-6 players graduating last May, coach Bo Eskay is confident that his team still possesses the talent to help them compete with the nation’s top teams. Annabel Anderson and Hannah White provide firepower in the attack, while Alayna Palamar is key in creating chances from midfield. Nyah Savage reinforces the spine of the team contributing in defense and in midfield.
Last season, they had a strong National League campaign winning 5 out of 7 games. They were also State Cup Finalists, only falling to USYS NCS winners: Premier FC Navy 01, and won the Club Champions League.
FC Frederick 01 was invited back to National League based on their strong performances in the 2018-19 season and hope to build off their experiences from previous years. Last year in National League, they won all four games in the first weekend of National League, but endured a disappointing run of results in their second weekend of play. This year, Eskay stresses the importance of starting strong to gain momentum and build on early performances. The girls are ready to start their final journey in National League this weekend in North Carolina!
