The site navigation utilizes arrow, enter, escape, and space bar key commands. Left and right arrows move across top level links and expand / close menus in sub levels. Up and Down arrows will open main level menus and toggle through sub tier links. Enter and space open menus and escape closes them as well. Tab will move on to the next part of the site rather than go through menu items.

General

What if I forget my password?

From the login screen, select your username and click "Forgot Your Password?" to reset.

Where can medical releases be printed?

Medical releases can be found in "forms" when you're logged into your profile.

Admins can find the releases under "Club Management -> Players -> Forms" from the dashboard.

Coaches/managers can get their medical release from a club administrator or parent.

I looked in the FAQ, but I still need help. Where do I go?

If you cannot locate the answer to your question in FAQ's, please go to GotSport Phase Training to search for documents and video tutorials. 

Safety and Privacy

What precautions are taken to ensure my child plays soccer in a safe environment?

GotSport works closely with MSYSA to ensure medical information collected during registration can be accessed by club administrators. All team officials have successfully passed SafeSport background checks to comply with State specifications, and all State waivers are included in on line registration. These waivers must be acknowledged and signed by all applicable parties.

How secure is the GotSport system and software?

GotSport is fully compliant with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard that governs and ensures that ALL companies that accept, process, store or transmit credit card information maintain a secure environment. 

We also maintain operational procedures for compliance with Children's Online Privacy Protection act (COPPA) for collecting personal information online from a child under the age of 13. 

We furthermore have integrated document encryption, User Permissions access control and all Club's and Leagues also own their own personnel data within the Connect platform.

How often are background checks conducted? How long do they take? What is the process?

Background checks are conducted every year. Team Officials must register online to agree to the authorization and disclosure agreement that allows MSYSA to submit the background check.

The process can take one day or up to several weeks depending on the background results reported. Team Officials can login to their member account to view their status. 

MSYSA reserves the right to determine individual eligibility for Team Officials based solely on the background report findings and to request further information or explanation of any incidents as demeed appropriate. 

Accounts and Player Registration

What do I need to do as a parent to register my child(ren) to play soccer?

Your club will give you a registration link, you will be prompted to "CREATE AN ACCOUNT" in GotSport, if you have not previously done so.  Use this link for tutorials on the registration process for "Parents & Players".

Where can I upload a photo and birth certificate of my child?

Photos and approved birth documents can be uploaded during online registration or your user account anytime if club has given access to parents. Club/League administrators also have the ability to upload.

Are payment plans supported in GotSport?

Clubs/Leagues have the ability to offer payment plans. Please contact your club/league for more information as needed.

Can I register and be rostered on multiple teams?

Yes, from the GotSport sign on which is generated after acceptance.

  • You must obtain the unique registration link from each club.
  • This will require an account creation with each club, however you can still use the GotSport single user account (same login credentials across all clubs). You will receive a notification from the club if your child makes a team. 
  • Please note: each adult registered to a team (i.e - coach, manager, assistant coach, etc.) must have their own individual account and cannot use a single family account/ As each adult must have their own links to SafeSport, CDC, BGC. 
  • In order to accept the team placement for the club of your choice, login your account and click the "Accept" button. Any fees charged by that club will then generated to your account after acceptance. 

Who will be the primary contact and will we need two separate accounts for correspondence if the players' parents/guardians do not live together?

Registration allows a family to add up to four parent/guardian email addresses per family during registration. Contact your club admin to connect to your players team communications app (TeamSnap, SportsEngine, etc) only the registered family can determine who gets the communication.

For Team Officials

What information is required to complete a background check?

To complete a background check you need a unique registration link from your club. In Gotsport, it will be in the "Dashboard" within your profile.

What happens if I coach multiple teams in the same club or teams in other clubs?

Register using the unique club in GotSport provided by the club. Your club administrator can manually add you to a team(s) in "club admin add". If you are coaching in multiple clubs, you will need to register with each club. However, your background check application and approval will carry over. 

Do Team Officials have the ability to print medical releases and rosters?

Team officials cannot print medical releases unless they are also a club administrator. Team officials (coaches and managers) will be able to access and print player cards/rosters in their user account, located under team management. Contact your club administrator for further information. 

For Club Administrators

How can I assign additional administrators to the club? What permission levels can I set?

The primary contact for each club or league was given GotSport access with the creation of their system. If you are the primary contact, you will receive an email from MSYSA upon approval of your affiliation, or you should log into system.gotsport.com, enter email address and click "Forgot your password?".

Once you are logged in as a Club/League Administrator, you can give admin access to other Board and Staff Members, by selecting "Users" in the left-hand column navigation bar and click "add user". Ensure that you "allow pop ups" in your browser settings. To adjust permission levels, select the created user, select roles, click edit in the specific role that has club level access, click edit again in the "Module permissions" section, select which functions you desire that user to have. 

How do I allow players to play up in age?

When creating a player program, click "allow player to select age group" (0 year play down limit, 2 year play up limit). NOTE: players MAY NOT play down an age group. 

Can I charge different fees per age group?

Yes! Fees can be customized during your player program registration set up by age group, gender, and team.

What can I do if a family creates a duplicate account?

GotSport has a feature that allows you to merge duplicate accounts.

Login to GotSport. Go to Club Management, then "dashboard", then click on the  red text link "duplicate user suggestion". Select the duplicate player and follow the prompts  to choose which account to merge. 

NOTE: this merge is NON-REVERSIBLE and PERMANENT, so please carefully select the correct account to merge into.

What can I do if a I forget my password to log into GotSport?

Go to system.gotsport.com, enter your email address and select "forgot password" to receive a new password. 

Can you delete a registration?

Yes! Go to programs -> program registrations -> then select the player in question. Choose the three dots on the right hand side and delete registration. 

How can I quickly tell which players have not uploaded photos or birth documents and email them?

During program set up, check the appropriate boxes to make the photo upload and the proof of age documents required. Participants will then be required to upload those items during registration for your program. 

Where can rosters be printed?

Rosters can only be printed once the team has been approved by MSYSA. Go to club management -> teams -> roster builder from the drop down, select the MSYSA 2020-2021 Travel Player registration in the event roster section and hit submit. Options for roster printing or Player ID cards will appear with that team. 

Where can cards be printed?

Cards can only be printed once the team has been approved by MSYSA. Go to club management -> teams -> roster builder from the drop down, select the MSYSA 2020-2021 Travel Player registration in the event roster section and hit submit. Player ID cards will appear with that team. 

How do I assign players and coaches to the roster before and after team approval?

Before team approval:

  • Players must have a headshot and have been age ID verified in order to be added to a roster
  • Coaches must have a headshot and have been age ID verified in order to be added to a roster
  • Follow the steps from above for ID printing (As far as what section to go to)
  • You MUST follow each step of the TEAM APPROVAL PROCESS  outlined HERE and in the applicable timelines.
  • Once the team roster has been completed it must be submitted to the state (Club Management -> teams -> registration -> scroll to MSYSA travel player registration -> register as a club -> select teams to be submitted)

How do I register my team for a league or State Cup event?

In the role of an administrator with the correct permissions, you have the option of selecting an individual team or bulk team registration to a league or tournament. Once the team has been registered, you can manager the roster from your club portal.

After I register a team to a league or tournament, will the roster automatically connect?

Yes! Registering teams through the system automatically syncs rosters including Player/Team Official eligibility and compliance. If the league or tournament uses GotSport for registration then that option will be available in under each team in roster builder under club management/teams.
