MSYSA Celebrates 45th Anniversary!
The Maryland State Youth Soccer Association (MSYSA) is celebrating its 45th anniversary this year. Founded in 1976 by Mr. Tom Bailey, MSYSA has grown from its inaugural member, the Baltimore Beltway Soccer League, with roughly 2,500 players, to now having more than 140 affiliate soccer clubs and leagues with more than 63,000 registered players, 10,000 registered coaches, and tens of thousands of volunteers.
To celebrate the organization’s 45th anniversary, many exciting initiatives designed to connect, engage, and grow are being launched. Each of the initiatives will connect with current and potential future affiliates, engage with the various participants who collectively comprise the robust youth soccer community in Maryland and DC, and grow participation in the beautiful game. The MSYSA 45th Anniversary initiatives include:
- Awarding $45,000 in MSYSA grants and scholarships.
- Providing 45 gifts and prizes.
- Raising $45,000 to be reinvested in further growing the game.
- Growing registrations by 4.5%.
Additional information pertaining to each of the initiatives will be released in the coming weeks as the offerings come online, so be sure to follow MSYSA on Facebook (@MDStateYouthSoccer), Instagram (marylandstateyouthsoccerassn), and Twitter (@MSYSA) and frequently check out our website (msysa.org).
